Last week, on Ash Wednesday, I preached on fear.
In the midst of the Lenten season, so many of us are letting go of the things that weigh us down: foods, people, distractions. Some of us are taking on things: more devotional time, more time with family, more time with community.
Fear, however, often has a strangle hold on us.
The fear of inadequacy
The fear of being powerful
The fear of being judged
The fear of being unprepared or ill equipped
The fear of being alone
The fear of being ALIVE.
Check out this powerful sermon about how a “young and inexperienced” Solomon was prepared to overcome his fears to lead as King of Israel — and how we can lean into opportunities to overcome our own fears to live the best life has for us.
